Emergencies:

Life-threatening
Emergencies:
In a life-threatening emergency such as sudden severe chest pain, loss of consciousness
or severe bleeding - dial 999 before ringing the surgery.

Emergency Appointments: |
|
In the event of sudden onset of your illness, you can be treated as an emergency patient
by making an appointment to see the Duty Doctor up to 48 hours in advance or Nurse
Practitioner up to 24 hours in advance.
We have a rota of duty doctors during surgery times where a doctor is appointed specifically
to deal with emergency patients by appointment. You may not be able to see a doctor of your
choice.

Do you need an Emergency Appointment ? |
|
It will help considerably if you can observe the following when seeking an appointment as
an emergency:
Non-Urgent Conditions: |
Ongoing, stable conditions. |
Repeat prescription requests. |
Sickness certificate requests. |
Routine test requests. |
|
The above conditions and requests do not require an emergency appointment. |
Urgent Conditions: |
Chest Pains. |
Breathlessness. |
Wheezing. |
Earache. |
Bleeding. |
Painful Eyes. |
Blackouts. |
Stomach Pains. |
Any severe pain. |
|
|
Please request an emergency appointment for the above conditions. |

Accident Emergency (A&E): |
|
Please avoid unnecessary use of A&E – Can our surgery, NHS Walk-in Centre or NHS Direct help you?
