Our nurses have their own surgeries and provide a range of specialist medical clinics. They also carry out the following:

1. Assist both the practice GPs and visiting surgeons in conducting minor surgical procedures, including a weekly vasectomy clinic.

2. Cervical smear services.

3. Reviews of medication for asthma, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and stroke.

4. Provide advice for family planning, carry out minor treatments, change dressings and give immunisations and vaccinations.

5. Provide advice and guidance to patients on travel, diet, smoking, stress management and general health care.

6. Vivienne Fountain is our Decontamination & Infection Control Lead at the practice.

Healthcare Assistants:

Linda & Emma

Healthcare Assistants aid the Practice Nurses with blood pressure and new patient checks, urine testing and so on.

Health Visitors:

To be confirmed.

Health visitors work within the community to promote good health and prevent ill health. They are able to give advice where specific needs are identified with the individual, family or community.

They also provide support at times of physical and/or emotional stress, such as in bereavement.

District Nurses:

Our District Nursing Sister, leads a strong team of District Nurses and support staff, providing comprehensive and skilled nursing care to sick and disabled patients in their own homes.

These nurses provide support and advice to their patients, and maintain a close liaison with all medical, social and voluntary agencies concerned with the provision of care to people being treated at home.

Together with the District Nurses, the Doctors provide quality, terminal care to cancer and chronic disease patients in the relative comfort of their home environment.

Where the care provided in-home is in respect of the terminally ill, that care is boosted by the close proximity of the St Clare's Hospice, which is a readily available source of help and expertise.

Macmillan Nurses:

Macmillan Nurses are specialist nurses who have been trained in the management of pain relief and the provision of emotional support to cancer patients and their families.

Midwives:

Midwives provide antenatal and postnatal care. At the birth of the child, they provide for home or hospital delivery, fully considering the patient's choice in this respect.

Parentcraft is a key aspect of the midwives work, where patients are educated in all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and baby care. The midwives work closely with the GPs in postnatal care via the baby clinics.
